Last week we gave some light flack to OpenAI for rumors that the org would fail to release text-to-video model Sora before the end of 2024 as promised, after Google had surprise-dropped their own competitor Google Veo. But Sora has arrived! OpenAI has imposed some guardrails around the tech as-released to early testers, including blocking the ability to depict people. – source
Putin announced a new “AI Alliance Network” for BRICS members at Russia’s flagship AI conference today, saying “Russia must participate on equal terms in the global race to create strong artificial intelligence.” – source
